As always if you are planning on drinking NYE please DO NOT DRIVE. Make sure everyone enters 2012 safe and sound.

Starting next week there will be a slight line up change here at Radio X.  From Noon until 6:00p will be T-Bone taking care of you.

So where will I be???? Well my husband and I are kicking off the New Year by expecting our first baby girl or boy!! I will make my return from  Maternity leave in March. Wish us luck!!

Just a reminder that at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9th, there will be a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System. THIS IS ONLY A TEST. There is no actual emergency. The test should last only about 45 seconds. Once the test has concluded we will get you back to the music!

Frontenac Football Season is Over

Gosh it seems like it just started but as always all good things must come to an end. The Raiders ended their season last night with a loss against the Wellsville Eagles. Final score from the night was 24-7. However it was a good year for them as they finish the season 5-5. Well done Raiders!!

In sad news it was reported over the weekend that Mikey Welsh bassist who played for Weezer from 1998-2001 was found dead in a Chicago hotel room after suspected drug overdose.  According to the bands website Welsh left Weezer in 2011 after suffering a nervous breakdown. Mikey was only 40 years old. Another talented musician gone too soon.

Warrant fans this morning woke up to the horrible news that ex-Warrant singer Jani Lane, 47 had died at his hotel in L.A. yesterday evening. According to reports no official cause of death has been released. Lane had a history of drug and alcohol abuse. He was ordered to serve 120 days in jail after he was arrested for a DUI in 2010....his second DUI in just two years.

The man who famously penned Warrants Biggest Hits like Cherry Pie and Uncle Toms Cabin will be missed!

With so many rock stars in and out of rehabs and not to mention in and out of jail its hard to believe that there are some like Miss Sheryl Crow out there. By now you probably have heard the news that she is going to be auctioning off her personal ( and very awesome I might add ) 1959 Mercedes- Benz in Pebble Beach next month and use the money to help rebuild Joplin. Not only is she a talented musician but also a wonderful person all around! If only more musicians where like her!

Here at Radio X 1035 we think there is nothing more rockstar than people..... not just musicians contributing to their community with charity work or helping others in need through donations, no matter how big or small it is. As always we encourage you to get involved!

Everyone here at Radio X 103.5 The Evolution wants to wish you a Happy St. Patricks Day tomorrow! 

Don't forget to join T-Bone for a little St. Patty's Day Celebration at Faces Saloon located at 2nd and North Locust here in Pittsburg between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. He will be giving away a ton of prizes like movie passes to Hollywood Theatres, food certificates, and a pair of  3 day passes to Rocklahoma in May, plus much more. R.I.P Mike Starr

Shocked to learn tonight that Mike Starr former bassist of Alice In Chains passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah earlier today. So sad, as I am huge fan of his music with Chains. Most of us saw him battle drug addiction on Celebrity Rehab and knew of his recent arrest for felony possession of controlled substance but still held hope  he wouldn't follow the same path as  his fellow bandmate the late Layne Staley. He is a true talent &  will be dearly missed! Sad day in music.

Pancake Fundraiser

Don't forget that this Saturday there will be a Pancake Fundraiser to benefit the Pittsburg Community Garden. The fundraiser will be held at Applebees here in Pittsburg between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tickets are just $5.00 so make sure you grab your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family and enjoy a delicious breakfast all while supporting the Pittsburg Community Garden!

Check For Snow Covering Exhaust Vents!

I recently came across a story that has been happening to residents in the KC area but felt it was important to pass along to residents in our area.

The Overland Park Fire Department has been receiving several calls of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning . The reason they believe is due to snow covering the exhaust vents of high - efficiency furnances. Exhaust from high-efficiency furnances emits low heat and is often vented through plastic piping on the side of the home. If the vents are blocked by snow, carbon monoxide can build up in the home.

So please when we get hit with these heavy snowfalls like the last couple of weeks make sure to check your outside vents and make sure they are clear of any blockage. If you need further assistance please contact your local fire department!
